What is NLP?
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a powerful “user manual” for being human. NLP is the study of excellence and success. It provides amazingly simple and powerful methods for changing how you think, learn, feel, and behave to consistently achieve the results you want both personally and professionally.
Neuro stands for the nervous system and the brain. It sheds light on how we use our mind-body brain to translate our experiences into thoughts.
Linguistic is the way we use language to make sense of experience and then communicate it both to ourselves and others. Using our five senses (see, hear, taste, feel and smell), we take in information and store it internally. These internal “codes” (or inner representations) shape our mental worlds.
Programming refers to the way we process experiences. Our thinking styles become the brain’s “software,” which includes thoughts, feelings, emotions, behaviours, responses, skills, beliefs, and values. Changing, or upgrading, this mental software means we are able to let go of behaviours and responses that no longer serve us. It means we can achieve what we want in every moment.
